First of all, let me welcome you here! And at the same time to tell you where you actually got to.
Flame2Fame music is a recording studio, music and lifestyle label, as well as a platform for teaching electronic music creation, mixing and mastering.
This resource has two main objectives.
The first task is to create a community of like-minded people based on the platform. People who enjoy the process of writing music and hopefully see themselves as great artists in the future.
Composing music is not easy, but as Confucius said, “Choose a job you like, and you won’t have to work a single day in your life.“
If you feel an inner craving for musical composition, but you don’t know where to start, or you are already writing music, but you lack the necessary knowledge to do it efficiently, then you have come to the right place. All you need now is an experienced mentor and the support of people who, like you, have chosen this path for themselves.
The name Flame2Fame music reflects my life philosophy. The path of an artist starts with the inner fire that burns inside every creative person and this fire makes the artist move forward, release new music and, in time, will lead to deserved recognition, applause and fame. Flame2Fame music is about the journey, not the result. Unlike most similar resources, I will not promise quick results or financial security for the rest of your life, nor can I even guarantee your relevance in the music industry as an artist or composer. In return, I will offer something more valuable.
If you choose Flame2Fame music, we will walk this path together. You will try, experiment a lot, fight and overcome internal constraints and limitations, make mistakes often, analyze your mistakes, and then correct them. And while you’re doing this, you’ll get better every day! The most stubborn and determined people will discover new facets of their personality, expressing it through creativity. Believe me, in my experience, such discoveries are worth living for! Besides, you won’t be alone. In a closed premium group, which I will provide access to for a nominal fee, you will be able to get to know other band members, share your experience with them, ask for help if necessary, participate in monthly music assignments and streams, where I will analyze your tracks in detail, as well as receive cool bonuses in the form of paid plugins, absolutely for free. For my part, I will try to create a friendly and generally supportive atmosphere in the community to help your inner fire ignite with full force.
The best tracks, which will be carefully selected by me, will have the opportunity to be released under the Flame2Fame music label. We will be promoting and pitching tracks together. By creating shared playlists for them, we will break through the information barriers of streaming platforms and naturally increase each other’s awareness. And the authors of the best beats will have the opportunity, if desired, to sell beats under their nickname in the Beat store, and earn money. I will only charge 10 percent of each sale for publishing beats in my store.
The website also has a section with free music-related products, which will be actively updated. These may include DAW themes, original DAW templates to increase speed and efficiency, sample sets, presets for popular virtual synthesizers, and so on. Some of these will be available to the public, while others will be available only to members of a closed community.
The second task, as you might have guessed, is that Flame2Fame music will publish information about all my personal releases and collaborations with other artists, in one form or another. Even if you don’t plan to release your own music to the World, I would be extremely grateful if you would leave comments under my personal releases. The listener’s opinion is important to me, and that’s not just a figure of speech.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been creating and editing music for over 15 years under the pseudonym Wishmasta. There have been breaks in my creative work due to personal circumstances. But with them came the realization that music and I are inextricably linked. I can’t imagine my life without music. And that feeling when you’re standing on stage with a microphone, hundreds of eyes fixed on you, watching your every move — there’s nothing else like it! When you give your energy to the audience, and it comes back to you five or ten times stronger.
I have not only pleasant memories associated with music, but also certain people who happened to play a significant role in my life. I am not a fan of long autobiographies, so in this part of the text I will try to be brief and share only what I think you should know about me. Imagine a person with a rebellious character who rejects any kind of authority. A person who, positioning himself as a rapper, grew up in a marginal rocker environment, with all the attendant circumstances. And who was lucky enough to study at two private schools, two universities, and a computer college. On the one hand, there were noisy parties, alcohol, and frequent fights. On the other hand, my natural curiosity and good education also bore fruit. The result was me—a traveler between two worlds that are so different from each other.
My passion for music began with listening to cassettes by 2pac, NAS, and Ja Rule, as well as trying to write and perform my own rap songs. Back in the days of slow dial-up internet, I listened to Tupac’s songs, and my knowledge of English was sufficient to translate them into Russian and post the translations online.
At that time, I was exclusively focused on lyrics. A little later, I came to understand that rap is not just about poignant social lyrics. The musical beat that accompanies it is also important. A well-chosen beat can emphasize the semantic accents in the rap and enhance the perception of the written text.
As it turned out, the beatmakers with whom I collaborated did not always feel the energy and the mood that I put into the lyrics. And, following the advice of a well-known saying, I decided to learn how to write music on my own. I was twenty-one years old, and since then music has been firmly established in my life and has become an integral part of it.
Since hip-hop culture came to us from America, I decided to go back to the roots of this culture and became an active member of the popular back in the days paid closed community named Computer Music Academy, administered by the famous Detroit beatmaker Tashierre Risay. Members of this community worked on joint projects, did homework assignments on beat making and sound design, and, at Tashierre’s suggestion, competed with each other, honing their beatmaking skills. Some, including myself, took private lessons from Tashierre Risay. By the way, it was the Computer Music Academy that served as inspiration and guidance for me to create this platform. Because the Academy was the starting point, the ticket to the world of music for me.
Creating music on a computer is not only about writing arrangements, but also about further studio processing — mixing, and mastering. Therefore, in parallel with beatmaking, I became interested in specialized resources for processing. For me, then still a “green novice,” the resource Musician on the Mission, with its mentor Rob Mayzes, was a real gem. It was there that, buying paid courses on mixing and mastering, I eagerly absorbed the knowledge that this platform offered. Unlike the Computer Music Academy, which was characterized by an extremely active internal community, Musician on the Mission was more focused on interacting with a mentor. Rob was very responsive and always responded when I had questions about one or another aspects of the processing. Today, this resource continues to exist, having undergone significant changes. It expanded and got bigger – more mentors, more courses, more music streams. And now the project has turned into mastering.com.
Not wanting to stop, I kept looking for new sources of information on this magical process — music processing. I can say with confidence that I bought courses and studied this from practically all the well-known English-speaking sound engineers you can find on YouTube. Among the big names, I can mention Andrew Schoeps, David Gnozzi from MixbusTV, David Graham from Recording Revolution, Andrew Zeleno, Björgvin Benediktsson from Audio Issues, Bobby Owsinsky, and that’s not the whole list.
An interesting fact about me. My beatmaker hashtag was created for me by Adrian Woods, the creator of two major platforms: the Anno Domini Nation beat store and Modern Producers, a resource for selling sample packs and presets. Famous rappers such as Snoop Dogg, Kevin Gates, Kurupt, and others buy beats on Anno Domini Nation.
In 2015, I transitioned from writing music to sound engineering. I continued to sell custom beats, but my main job and source of income became processing music by foreign artists. This continued until the end of 2019, when I made the difficult decision to return to my main role as an artist and performer. As you know, sound engineers are mostly people who remain behind the scenes. They are well-known, but only within their highly specialized field. The lion’s share of attention goes to musical performers. I missed live performances and interacting with the audience from the stage. This is what has been my inspiration and passion from the very beginning, and what still makes my heart beat faster. At the moment, I continue to release beats for rap and R&B artists, as well as lo-fi music under the pseudonym Wishmasta. But my immediate plans include the release of a full-length Russian-language rap album.
As for you, dear blog readers, you can take advantage of my unique experience and, armed with this knowledge, take your first steps toward finding yourself in music creation and the music industry. This will be useful for any musician, but my experience will be especially useful for Russian-speaking audiences.
